I am now living in a beautiful area of Australia, set up in the hills, 20 mins away from the Sunshine Coast. After leaving UWC, I completed a BA (Graphic Design) at QCA Brisbane.

Favourite memory of UWCSEA: A fantastic multicultural environment...great friends...Worst memory of UWCSEA: Probably the long daily bus ride from Changi...Luckilly we had the beautiful Beverly, Sally and Sandy on-board! Favourite teacher at UWCSEA: Alan Barnes...who taught me how to sail...he now lives 20 minutes away! Most useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: To do well at exams! Least useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: That a dirty paint brush is a well mixed paint brush! Three words to describe what I was like at UWCSEA: Cool, Arrogant, Affectionate. Any other UWCSEA memories I'd like to share: I was told off by a teacher for being an exhibitionist!...exhibitionist Moi?

What I'm doing now and how I got here from school:
It's been a long haul. I don't know if anyone remembers me because I left at the end of 3rd year and I was a bit of a girly swot except for forays into bad disco fashion and my love of AC/DC and Bowie. We moved back to Australia where my grades plummeted and my ability to screw up my life improved. I ended up in the USA by way of London, played my way through half a dozen bands, most of Europe and countless bottles of vodka. Now, finally married to (yet another) graphic designer who also grew up in SE Asia. I'm really bummed that I missed the reunion, but with a new baby and no job, it just wasn't happening. If anyone has old class photos from 3rd year they can scan and send me I would love to see them, my Interscols were destroyed in a flood!

Favourite memory of UWCSEA: sailing regattas, playing poker under the stairs.
Worst memory of UWCSEA: fainting in Biology when the teacher dissected a rat.
Favourite teacher at UWCSEA: Mr Engman. Most useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: How to give a damn about things. Least useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: How to mount the uneven bars Three words to describe what I was like at UWCSEA: music, boys, sailing
Any other UWCSEA memories I'd like to share:
I remember being mortified by being sent home because I dyed my hair with textas.

Michelle Mitchell (Mich)

Attended UWC: 1977-1982.
Husband: Jens Hansson musician. Two boys:
Thor (1997) Axel (2000) stepson Tindur (1986)
Barðavogur 20 Reykjavik 104 Iceland
Phone: 56.888.09
Email: michelle@mi.is
What I'm doing now and how I got here from school: Apart from the odd whale hunt and seal bashing I make sure the igloo has enough fire wood to keep us warm and alive. How I got her from school... well....turn left at Durnern road and then take the PIE to Changi !

Favourite memory of UWCSEA: Peter Borgman!
Worst memory of UWCSEA:
Bus rides home with CHUAN Campbell!
Favourite teacher at UWCSEA:
Mr Sculley Most useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: 3 feet apart!!! Least useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA: tuck your shirt in! Three words to describe what I was like at UWCSEA: Shy, sweaty and spotty. Any other UWCSEA memories I'd like to share: Baluntu.. what a great place that was.

Robert & Stepanie...nice cuppa.

Hi JAD,

I don't know if you still remember me but I think we must have sat together at some point because I have memories of you drawing this squiggly semen (?) icon with the word 'pube' on some of my notes (probably Hill's English class) and I also found your signature scrawled in one of my old Interscols!

Anyway it's great to see you put that artistic talent to good use and to know that someone else from UWC has made a career in graphic design. Until late last year I was an art director with a design and advertising consultancy but was made redundant after we lost a huge account (Microsoft) so I decided to go freelance and so far it's going well.

Thanks for all your hard work in setting up the Class of '84 site. I don't touch web design but do appreciate the effort and time involved and enjoy checking it out every few weeks.

Look forward to seeing more profiles and the scary then/now photos scary because everyone is still aged between 1518 in my mind. I haven't found time to fill out my profile but have attached a photo of me and Stephanie Dudley-Evans (she's in the group photo on your home page, lower right hand corner just below you) on holiday in Finland last summer. We're not actually a couple and were never friends at UWC but got reacquainted after my best mate and former work colleague by weird coincidence started dating her. They've since bought a house together less than a mile from me so we see each other several times a week for drinks, meals out and the occasional holiday.
Cheers,
Rob

It was wonderful to see every one at the recent reunion in August 2004 and hope that it will not be too long before the next one!
Favourite memories of UWCSEA:
Driving the school bus and Michelle Mitchell's company! and dating Danielle Barratt which kept me in touch with UWC.
Worst memory of UWCSEA:
Running away from home, staying secretly with Peter Borgman, and still going to school every day!
Favourite teachers at UWCSEA:
Mr Colins, Mr Dilley and Mrs Watson
Most useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA:
When in trouble head for Ms Bourne's Office and hang out till the coast is clear!
Least useful piece of information I learnt at UWCSEA:
that there are apparently reasons for why we weren't allowed to do many things!
Three words to describe what I was like at UWCSEA:
mischief in motion.
Any other UWCSEA memories I'd like to share:
too many to list, but I am very grateful for all the wonderful UWC friendships that have endured the test of time.
